The Canadiens are proud to announce that (11)Rylan Cardinal will wear the capital C for the upcoming 2024-25 NEAJBHL season taking over the duties of captain from (14)Isaak Watters.
Of the changing of the guard GM Dean Smyl had the following to say “First off I would like to say thank you to Isaak Watters on being our captain this past season. The sky is the limit for Watty and I want to wish him the best of luck in the future. Rylan is a player that doesn’t need to say much in the locker room as he shows and leads by example on the bench and on every shift. Appointing Rylan as our captain is not only to lead his 24 teammates, but this organization, the fans and town of St Paul.”
Coach Corey DeMossiac added “Rylans leadership skills on and off the ice are what the organization looks for in a leader. His dedication to his team on and off the ice are examples of his going above in any situation asked of him.”
"The flame of our captains is strong and continues to be proud tradition for our 70 year old franchise." said Patrick Lamoureux, President of St. Paul Canadiens Alumni Foundation.
